Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall content and flow of a live show.
  • Assist and collaborate with show host on preparations for show on daily basis and for future shows. Make sure all aspects of the talk show are complete before the show airs. Plan ahead and meet deadlines so show can run smoothly for all involved.   • Ensure show runs smoothly while on air by following established timelines, handling caller requests, notifying talent of important information, keeping show host on time and on track, interacting with talent, callers and guests when appropriate, following program log, taking breaks, running the board flawlessly, handling changes, monitoring of equipment to ensure it is operating correctly.
  • Answer phone calls during airtime and screen calls. Make decisions as to which callers go on the air. Must be able to respond and work well in a crisis.
  • Be able to handle last minute and unexpected changes during regular work shift, during shows and at other times as necessary. Be able to communicate quickly and clearly to show host, guests and others as needed.
  • Ability to relate and communicate with a variety of people including talent, guests, callers, and other staff.
  • Assist with daily commercial production including voice-overs and copywriting as directed by Production Department. Ensures that all commercial production is completed as specified and on time.
  • Develop and write copy for station and show promos.
  • Working knowledge of radio systems to solve minor, routine problems as needed.
  • Assess emergency situations for the station, and make decisions on when to call Engineering, ENCO or Programming managers for additional support. When necessary, go on-air to report on life-threatening or emergency situations until further support arrives.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Finance, this position will provide support for the Director of Operations and Finance including general office procedures; nurturing the ministry’s Ambassadors and Volunteer programs; and assist with special tasks and event support as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Office Responsibilities:
    • Update Kinship Radio website with sponsorships, community events and prayer requests
    • Prepare and facilitate monthly mailings, special projects and Share with volunteers
    • Meet regularly with supervisor to assess and address office and ministry needs
    • Integral part of ministry communication including: answering phones, greeting guests, responding to listener inquiries.
    • Process mail as a part of the donation process
    • Maintain digital messaging in the lobby area
  2. Community Responsibilities:
    • Develop, plan and initiate Ambassador efforts in cooperations with Director of Operations and Finance along with the ministry’s Lead Ambassador
    • Represent Kinship radio at church and community events as assigned
    • Nurture relationships with ministry Ambassador groups and volunteers
  3. Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • High School diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Self-starting, organized, accountable, honest, with a high attention to detail

KTTC-TV in Rochester, MN is seeking an Anchor/Multimedia Journalist. 

Job Summary/Description

KTTC is looking for an news anchor to lead our weekend morning broadcasts. Launched in September 2022, KTTC is the only station to offer a local newscast from 6-7am. These two shows on Saturday and Sunday morning are a great opportunity for a young journalist looking to improve their anchoring skills.

The other three days of this journalist’s workweek will be spent working with our weekday morning team as a morning reporter. Mornings can bring multiple opportunities to grow as a live reporter. From breaking news to engaging interviews and demonstrations with new businesses, the morning reporter role is vital to taking our viewers out of the studio.

Some common skills needed for both roles include time management, curiosity, ability to work on deadline, strong writing skills, and the ability to adapt. We encourage our staff to get involved in our community through various organizations and volunteer efforts.
