KTTC-TV in Rochester, Minnesota, is looking for a dynamic, energetic anchor to helm our weekday 5pm newscast and innovate on our digital platforms. This anchor will work closely with their producer, the night side executive producer, and the news director to develop new and creative ideas on how to best bring fresh content to viewers on KTTC News at 5pm and KTTC News Now, the station's 24/7 digital stream.

Qualifications/Requirements:

▪️ KTTC News at 5pm is a ratings leader in our market. This position is suited for someone who has some experience anchoring a newscast. The ideal candidate will be able to enterprise timely, relevant content for KTTC viewers, manage their time effectively, and handle breaking news calmly. A large part of this job will involve using the KTTC News Now digital studio, an innovative set that allows one anchor the ability to control cameras, audio, video, live feeds and conduct virtual interviews all on their own. We will train you to use the digital studio, but some tech-savvy is helpful.

▪️ Strong writing skills are encouraged. Our newsroom uses ENPS and Edius software. Experience with either is a bonus, but not required. We will train you on how to use both.

Play-By-Play and On-Air

KROX Radio in Crookston, MN, is looking for an energetic and dependable person to take on a High School Sports play-by-play and 3.5-hour on-air shift (10:40 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) Monday - Friday.   KROX Radio has been a Marconi Award finalist for Small Market Station of the Year two times in the last four years. We will be looking to promote the successful applicant to Sports Director within a year or two.

 

PLAY-BY-PLAY -

The successful applicant would be broadcasting Crookston High School and area high school football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, ice hockey, baseball, and softball.   

You would also be doing play-by-play on video streams of all Crookston High School home football, volleyball, basketball, and hockey games, rotating with other announcers. 

The announcer will also be asked to write game recaps/stories of the games you cover for our award-winning website.

There is also a chance of becoming the sports director as we will be looking for a new one soon as the current one is looking to give up the duties.

 

ON-AIR - 

You would host a 20-minute talk show from 10:40 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The rest of the shift would be doing news/sports/weather and playing music. Again the shift starts at 10:40 a.m. and runs until 2:00 p.m.

 

KROX Radio is family owned and operated. We offer IRA match, paid vacation, major holidays off (including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day), A $3,000 health insurance stipend (we put $125 extra in each paycheck - $250 per month) to help cover health insurance costs. All employees get an end-of-the-year bonus, and we also give bonuses on performance throughout the year.

  • Partner with peers, on-air talent, producers, directors, managers, and members of the public to help ensure a professional TV newscast/show is produced.

  • Availability to respond to audio needs. Be available at the audio position during your shift to handle any audio needs, especially during times when we are covering breaking news. Help with coverage of special events. Help with the coverage of audio during vacations and other times when no audio operator is available.
  • Grow professionally as an audio operator. Seek out ways to become more knowledgeable about new technologies in our business. Bring to the attention of engineering management any ideas that would improve the product we are putting on the air. Seek additional knowledge about the operation of other areas of the department.
  • Video editing that meets a high standard of accuracy, balance and ethics.
  • Operating digital NLE editing equipment and Windows computer software. Experience using Edius 7, Adobe Premiere preferred.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with reporters/anchors/producers/fellow editors is crucial.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, nights, extremely early morning hours, holidays and overtime when needed.
  • Complete other duties as requested and needed.
