Broadcasters Strengthen Local Communities

Local broadcasters have faithfully served communities across the state for decades, and never more clearly than during the pandemic. They ran critical information about public safety, advocated for their economy by supporting small businesses, organized and contributed to events serving the public and more.

MBA's Broadcasters Week of Kindness took place the week of August 7th. Community highlights that were shared included stations raising over $332,000 for community organizations, serving, packing and collecting 204,200 meals for local food shelves, donating hundreds of volunteer hours to picking up trash, organizing community events and supporting animal shelters, donating movie passes to those being kind in the community, stuffing busses with thousands of school supplies for local students and teachers and bringing awareness to organizations that support veterans, cancer patients and underserved communities. Congratulations to all broadcasters on the amazing work you do to serve and give back to your community!
