Hubbard Radio and its stations in Alexandria, Bemidji, Brainerd and Wadena (Districts 7,8) raised over $202,000 during their annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse. Stations worked with Family Wise Services and Child Abuse Prevention Councils in the counties that they serve to raise funds and awareness.
KBJR-TV Duluth (District 8) KBJR-TV partnered with Memorial Blood Centers of Duluth on a Blood Drive Campaign. The campaign surpassed its goal by collecting blood from 183 people. According to Memorial Blood Centers, this equates to over 500 lives saved. KBJR-TV also helped to share the important message of the need for blood through live shots, social media, web spots, tv spots and a recipient story.
KWNG-FM Red Wing, WCMP-FM Pine City (District 2, 8) The Q-Media Group stations in Red Wing and Pine City Minnesota teamed up to collect over 1,766 pounds of food for the Red Wing and Pine City Food Shelves during its Project Food Shelf Campaign.
Hubbard Radio Brainerd and its stations KUAL-FM, WJJY-FM, KLIZ-FM, KLIZ-AM, KVBR-AM and KBLB-FM (District 8) ran severe weather coverage on-air and on-line during Spring severe thunderstorms. A representattive from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was traveling in the area during the storms and thanked Hubbard Radio Brainerd for keeping the public informed on severe weather developments.
Hubbard Radio Brainerd and its stations KUAL-FM, WJJY-FM, KLIZ-FM, KLIZ-AM, KVBR-AM and KBLB-FM (District 8) along with its employees helped with the United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass County Pop Up Food Pantry. They loaded up cars with food, drive-thru style. This is a monthly event that provides food to 200-300 households that need it in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Hubbard Radio Bemidji and its stations KLLZ-FM, KKZY-FM, KBUN-AM, KBUN-FM, KBHP-FM (District 8) The Stuff-A-Truck campaign collected 12,700 pounds of food and raised $10,512 for the Bemidji Community Food Shelf.
R&J Broadcasting, Inc. and its stations KGHS-AM, KSDM-AM International Falls (District 8) Throughout December, R&J Broadcasting, Inc. stations in International Falls organized a Stuff the Ambulance with toys collection. Toys were collected eand donated to the Salvation Army to distribute to kids throughuout the community.
WDIO-TV Duluth (District 8) WDIO-TV's Trees of Hope Campaign raised awareness and $11,545 for Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance, Courage Kenny, Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland.
Midwest Communications Duluth and its stations KQDS-FM, KDAL-FM, KTCO-FM (District 8) partnered with Northern Lakes Second Harvest Food Bank and Super One Foods for their Annual Day of Giving event. $1,926 was raised along with two large boxes of food donations, and a pallet of beverages. Donations benefitted those in the Duluth community.
WUSZ-FM, WTBX-FM, WMFG-FM, WDKE-FM, WEVE-FM, WMFG-AM and WNMT-AM Hibbing (District 8) Midwest Communications's seven stations on the Iron Range joined Team Tomassoni in memory of late Senator David Tomassoni and they've raised $100,000 dollars to date for the 2023 ALS Never Surrender Blizzard Snowmobile Tour which is an event that supports people living with ALS. This includes selling over $10,000 in raffle tickets just out of their studio.
WTBX-FM Hibbing (District 8) supported the Lincoln Elementary Parent Teach Organization's basketball game fundraiser. PTO representatives appeared on-air with the fundraiser raising over $10,000 for kids in the Hibbing school district.
Townsquare Media Stations Duluth (District 8) Townsquare Media Duluth stations are heavily involved in serving their community including campaigns like KKCB's Radiothon for St. Jude which raised $85,000, the Bloody Bash on the Hill which raised $18,000 for ALS and helped promote local businesses, sponsoring the Northern Lights Foundation Gala - the 2022 event honored Townsquare Media Duluth Market President with the volunteer of the year award, the Rotary Rose Sale, Cash for Clubs and more. Townsquare Media Duluth contributed over $227,000 in in-kind promotion for community campaigns and events.
RP Broadcasting and Paskvan Media Stations (District 8) host the 218 Together campaign which promotes small businesses in the community and invites listeners to connect with small business owners. This promoted on-air and online.
