VP, Information SVS/Technology

Hubbard Broadcasting is seeking a VP, Information SVS/Technology.

Hubbard Broadcasting Inc., is the parent company of several media companies including Hubbard Television, Hubbard Radio, REELZ, F&F Productions and 2060 Digital. Based in St. Paul, MN, this family-run business has been in operations for nearly 100 years.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development and implementation of organizational information systems, software applications, and IT/IS support and infrastructure systems.
  • Direct and mange IT/IS plans, schedules, policies and programs for the Company's data processing, network communications, business operations, computer services and management information systems.
  • Ensure Company IT/IS investments are focused on enhancing business efficiency and provides a competitive advantage based on measurable metrics and processes. Technology related to data management and data services infrastructure; server and network infrastructure; security administration and applications support are key to the position.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define the corporate IT/IS budget, allocate resources efficiently, and optimize technology investments while managing risks and costs effectively. Develop and manage the budget, ensuring sufficient resources are allocated for technology investments, returns are realized, and future investments are balanced across business needs.
  • Apply technology evolution, direction and trends to overall business direction and work with stakeholders to develop technology goals, roadmaps, and associated planning.
  • Participate as the "information technology voice" in discussions with business unit senior leaders, chief engineers, process owners, and executive management while leveraging key personal characteristics of customer focus, integrity, intellectual horsepower, conceptual ability and pragmatism.
  • Manage, coach, train and "right size" the IT/IS organization to ensure it is always a best fit for the requirements being placed on it. Develop and lead a strong team and deliver top performance and cross organization communication.
  • Responsible for company-wide analysis and recommendations for all significant IT/IS related costs, including staff and operating expenses.
  • Coordinate efforts to provide the company more opportunity for security, continuity, consistency, controls, benefits, and cost savings.
  • Accountable for security of all information services and technology throughout the organization, laying out best practices to secure the information resources of the Company.
  • Oversee the development of mission-critical applications and technology to support the company's long-term goals and provide comprehensive business continuity services to all facilities and operations.
  • Identify emerging information technologies to be analyzed, assimilated, and integrated within the organization.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

The Vice President, Information Services & Technology (IT/IS) will serve as a business partner and trusted advisor to all Hubbard Business entities, and is responsible for the development, and administration of the IT/IS strategic and tactical operating plans to support the company's objectives.

This position also is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the technological infrastructure of the Company, coordinating IT/IS team members, providing guidance, and building relationships with vendors. They will oversee the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company's information systems and processes and will spearhead the development of new systems and tools.

The Vice President, IT/IS directs overall IT/IS functions in accordance with the objectives and practices of the company and is responsible for developing and controlling the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT/IS.

The ideal candidate should have broad relevant technical and business knowledge reflective of successful experience in Corporations made up of largely autonomous business entities.

This position is based and works in Hubbard Broadcasting Corporate offices in Minneapolis/St Paul, MN.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior role with 10+ years of experience preferably in a related industry, leading large, cross-functional teams and/or enterprise-wide programs,
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to influence senior-level management and key stakeholders across business units.
  • Experience and expertise in one or more areas of IT/IS including infrastructure, security, development, digital; has an understanding of AI and its potential uses and impact on business units and employees.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, organization design and development.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
  • Expertise in budget planning and financial management.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and build capabilities that effectively balance the needs between continuously using skills to optimize operational efficiency.
