
Hubbard Broadcasting in Minneapolis/St. Paul is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.
Hubbard Broadcasting Inc., is the parent company of several media companies including Hubbard Television, Hubbard Radio, REELZ, F&F Productions and 2060 Digital. Based in St. Paul, MN, this family-run business has been in operations for nearly 100 years.
Job Responsibilities
- Multiple times daily, receives USPS and inter office mail and other shipped packages. Sorts and delivers to appropriate departments in a timely manner and according to established schedule. May use forklift to unload pallets.
- Multiple times a day picks up out going USPS and interoffice mail and packages for shipping according to established schedule. Processes mail items by weighing, applying correct postage via postage meter and ensuring USPS requirements. Processes airfreight and overnight packages and shipments by weighing, labeling, contacting carriers. Ensures all items are mailed and or shipped correctly.
- Notifies supervisor of any schedule or shipping changes in advance.
- Documents, maintains, and routes to appropriate personnel reports, records, and documentation for internal billing and tracking.
- Knowledgeable about mailing and shipping options, delivery services and costs. Keeps apprised of changes. Answers questions and offers suggestions for cost effective and timely mailing and shipping of items as requested.
- Notifies appropriate personnel when postage is needed, when the meter needs service or when other problems occur with mail equipment. Installs money into postage meter as required.
- Fills stock requests. Notifies Purchasing Manager if unable to fill. Retains information of stock requests filled. Forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains adequate supply of stock items. Reorders as required.
- Keeps stock room orderly and organized. Knows at all times where items are located. Reorganizes stock room as required or needed. Detects and notifies supervisor when items are no longer used or ready for removal or destruction.
- Identifies and offers suggestions for process and procedure improvements. Assists with implementation of changes.
- Communicates frequently with supervisor on status of warehouse.
- Adequately trains co-workers on warehouse procedures.
- Responds quickly and efficiently in urgent situations.
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with a wide variety of people at different levels of the organization including television, radio, senior management, support staff, Corporate personnel, vendors and clients.
- Works required hours. Available for possible overtime.
- Completes all projects and assignments on time and according to specifications.
- Works independently often yet receives direction from supervisor and others.
- Performs other assignments as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the Company.
Job Overview
This position is responsible for the efficient handling and distribution of outgoing and incoming mail & shipping (including interoffice). Responsible for effective organization, maintenance and inventory of stock room as well as fulfilling stock requests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or comparable prior work experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite, internet, Outlook; previous computer skills needed.
- Ability to work in pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effectively work with a variety of individuals at different levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Must have a pleasant, customer-service oriented style-face-to-face, over the telephone and electronically.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to take direction well.
- Pass certification to drive forklift.
- Must possess valid driver's license and clean driving record, as determined by the Company.
- Must be able to lift 65 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations.
The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00-$20.00.
