This person should possess outstanding relationship building skills with sales and customer service experience and a passion for their community, new systems, and innovative business solutions.

Ideal candidates will have a history of achieving revenue goals by developing new business and creating unique sponsorship and alternative funding opportunities as well as developing additional revenue from existing business. Enthusiasm for public broadcasting and the power of noncommercial media platforms is vital to the success of this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meet and develop relationships with key decision makers.
  • Expand company sales and funding footprint with existing and new accounts by introducing new sponsorship opportunities and services.
  • Be responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly, monthly and quarterly sales, and funding activity for all company media platforms.
  • Maintain product and funding integrity to ensure continuity and best business practices.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and accountability through consultative conversations.
  • Complete appropriate sales and funding activity reports and forecasts as required.
  • Collaborate with other roles in the organization to identify potential revenue sources that could include corporations and foundations.
  • Participate in designing, developing, planning, and implementing special fund-raising events that involve clients and community members.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time-management abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the business community.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the advertising campaign roles of television, radio, digital and print advertising and advertising strategies to accomplish client business goals.
  • Experience with public broadcasting, underwriting or production funding a plus. Abilities:
  • Experience with television, radio, or digital sales (preferably in the Northeastern Minnesota market), selling advertising programs to agencies and direct advertisers.
  • Experience in consumer research and analyzing, synthesizing, and communicating consumer research to current and prospective clients.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Education
  • Associates degree in related field AND two (2) years of marketing, media sales, and/or related sales activities; OR, four (4) years of experience in marketing, media sales, and/or funding activities; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

This person will be responsible for daily news coverage, especially breaking news, and digital news content decisions. They will work closely with the News Director on a strengths-based focus in guidance for content producers and MMJs. Duties /Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the daily editorial process and on-air execution of newscasts, and manage the daily operation of the newsroom, both KTTC and Fox 47 (KXLT), guiding coverage across all platforms, linear and digital
• Assist with planning, staffing, training, and performance evaluations for the News Department
• Coach and mentor reporters and MMJs to elevate writing and storytelling
• Direct newsroom operations and schedules
• Work with producers to ensure quality control and brand touchpoints
• Work with the ND and other managers to establish newsroom goals and work to develop them
• Helps develop news coverage strategy for the station and digital platforms
• Critiques newscasts/website daily to correct errors, improve coverage, and provide mentoring feedback to news staff

• Help gather sources/stories for newscasts and MMJs
• Take charge of specials, projects & live events as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BA in Journalism and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a television newsroom
• Strong management, communication, and people skills required to supervise and interact daily with staff and the community
• Proven leadership ability
• Creativity and passion for news
• Knowledge and understanding of using various digital and social platforms
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task in high-stress situations

Job Summary/Description:

KTTC, the #1 broadcast station in the Rochester/Mason City/Austin market is looking to hire a live sporting event coordinator/announcer. If you have a love for local sports and want schedule flexibility, this is for KTTC is looking to provide more local sports to their viewers and followers over the air and on digital streaming platforms. If you are a pioneer of digital media and love sports, this may be the job for you.

This person will work on coordinating with area schools and other sports organizations on airing live events. He/she will be the point-of-contact between the station and those organizations on logistics. Then, come game time, he/she will execute the plan and even be the face/voice of some of the events by calling plays, introducing programs, etc. It's important that this person be great at multi-tasking since you will have to do several things at once. This person will mostly work at the station on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but he/she will have flexibility on their hours outside of the live events.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate a live event schedule for our OTT streaming apps and subchannels
• Be able to announce play-by-play of different types of sports
• Gather and write content for digital platforms to promote and summarize live events
• Edit video for multiple platforms
• Be able to work with all stakeholders from the schools, station management, program sponsors, etc.
• Learn how to bring in different feeds and troubleshoot, when needed, to get quality visuals through KTTC's digital desk
• Must be an innovative team player with the ability to handle a variety of tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and sometimes stressful environment
• Flexibility with scheduling and/or assigned work shifts is preferred; willingness to work on Thursday-Saturday regularly
• Must be able to work at station in Rochester, Minnesota
• Follow all clothing and appearance guidelines
• Perform other job duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Experience on-air on television or radio and on streaming/social media

TECHNICIAN – AUTOMATION DIRECTOR (Full-time, Regular)

 

Fox 9 KMSP/WFTC is looking is seeking an inventive and creative Director to join our production team and help in crafting our award-winning newscasts.

 

Responsibilities:

Direct live and recorded newscasts and programs.

Operate Sony ELC production automation.

Work with Producers to pre-code show rundowns in iNews, camera block, place talent, and make post-show discrepancy reports.

This position will also be cross-trained on other technical responsibilities such as floor directing in studio; relaying cues and other directives from the control room to studio floor, assisting with the set-up and striking of sets which can entail being able to stand for several hours per day and move stage pieces periodically. Position may also require assistance in Master Control & TOC If needed.

 

Qualifications:

A sharp, detail-oriented person who learns quickly and works well with a team.

Work schedule flexibility is required.

Technically savvy and proactive in identifying and appropriately addressing issues that may arise.

Adapts well to the needs of a fast-paced news environment.

Is a positive newsroom citizen.

Knowledge of equipment and operating systems, including Sony ELC automation, MV8000G, video switcher, iNews, ELC playlist viewer, Bitcentral playout, ISQ playout of Chyron Mosaic and Power Clips, Vinten Fusion, and Calrec audio console.

High School diploma (or equivalent), college degree is preferred.

5 or more years of TV studio and control room operations preferred

Requires enrollment in IBEW 292 Union.

Right now, our Fox 9 Sales Team is looking for a Digital/Streaming TV Account Executive to specialize in business development. This individual will make an immediate impact in our rapidly growing OTT/CTV digital business. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a robust sales pipeline of qualified clients for the Fox Local Extension (FLX) OTT /CTV platform and Fox Local News Platforms
  • Source new sales opportunities through a combination of identifying and researching potential accounts and soliciting new business
  • Maintain a consistent presence out in the field building relationships and presenting, live or via Zoom, the benefits of the (FLX OTT/CTV platform and Fox Local News Platforms
  • Become a product expert to participate in brainstorming, team meetings, client meetings, researching and assisting in proposal development and campaign reporting
  • Collaborate with the Local Sales Manager and Digital Sales Manager to develop and maintain custom presentations that further highlight the benefits and utility of FLX
  • Maintain expert knowledge of competitive OTT platforms and a clear understanding of the characteristics that give FLX a competitive advantage
  • Steward client campaigns and work on a variety of weekly and monthly reports to develop impactful post campaign recaps and provide recommendations to further optimize client campaigns
  • Work closely with the Local Sales Manager and Digital Sales Manager on every RFP and presentation for consistency in creating impactful campaigns that help our clients achieve their marketing objectives.
  • Maintain a positive and effective working relationship with Ad-Ops, creative services, and finance departments
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate

 

Essential Skills:

  • To be successful in this position, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and effective time management skills are a must.  Proficiency in MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Excel and Word is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Other Qualifications: College degree preferred.  Digital and technical training certificates a plus.  Basic digital product knowledge of Mobile, Email, Facebook, and Video advertising encouraged.

You’ll have:
