strategic Promotions and Social Media Director to create and execute comprehensive

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promotional Activations: Design and implement promotional campaigns and events.  Ensure all activities align with the station’s mission and values.
  • Company Representation: Act with the highest level of integrity, honesty, and ethics, always keeping the best interests of the company, employees, and communities in mind including attending outside station and client events when necessary.
  • Communication & Team Management: Act as a resource and communicate effectively with all company personnel. Provide clear, consistent, and frequent feedback to direct subordinates and motivate them to excel.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking feedback and identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Branding Sponsorships: Seek and develop opportunities to strengthen the station’s key

branding images. Collaborate with sales management to create revenue-generating

sponsorships and events.

  • Contests: Scheduling: Manage and schedule on-air and online contests using Promosuite.   Aircheck daily and specialty contests as requested by clients.
  • Meetings and Coordination: Attend weekly promotions meetings, weekly IFMs with the General Manager, and Promotions Team meetings. Prepare and send press releases to media outlets for major station events.
  • Event Management: Aid in the planning and execution of station events. Draft promotional proposals and initiate package ideas. Coordinate winner delivery for specialty programs.
  • Feedback and Communication: Communicate feedback from events, listeners, clients, and engineers to the General Manager promptly.
  • Training and Mentoring: Help train, mentor, and schedule part-time Promotions Assistants. Assist in training and mentoring Street Team members.
  • Remote and Van Stops: Oversee remotes and van stops, including booking, scheduling, and creating remote sheets for client events.
  • Promotional Recaps: Create and deliver promotional recaps for the sales department,

           including photos, scripts, affidavits, website printouts, and recordings as requested.

  • Operational Duties: Coordinate staff clothing and premium item orders. Assist with event planning, client brainstorming, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a marketing or promotions role, preferably in the broadcasting industry.
  • Strong understanding of promotional and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in using promotional tools like Promosuite.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements: 

 

  • BS degree in Meteorology or related field
  • At least one year of professional meteorology and content production experience preferred.

“A person who reads the news and introduces the reports of other broadcasters on a television news program.”

And that’s not what we are looking for.

FOX 9/KMSP-TV, the FOX O and O in Minneapolis/St. Paul, is instead looking for a 21st Century multi-platform journalist to join our Morning News team. This position is primarily focused on our early morning hours.

First and foremost: you’ll be an excellent live communicator. You will have the ability to sustain UNSCRIPTED coverage and content on linear AND on our live streaming platforms including FOX Local.

You’ll be dynamic and motivated. You’ll live and breathe news and information from our community, state and the world around us. You’ll be able to write and deliver that information in a compelling and distinctive style. You’ll be a natural live interviewer

You’ll have:

  • A four year college degree with emphasis in Communications and Journalism preferred.
  • 3 -5 years' experience in a medium to major market.
  • Strong news judgement and a superior knowledge of current events
  • Conversational, pithy writing skills that stand out from “news-speak”.
  • A professional appearance
