Responsibilities:

  • Applicant will be in charge of the full image of the station. This includes music, imaging, social media, etc.
  • Handle all daily digital responsibilities, including posting local content to the station website and mobile app. Along with posting to station social media platforms.
  • Able to produce station promos and imaging on a daily basis. 
  • Attend and assist in all market cluster live events. 
  • Conduct Live Remotes and appearances and assist in special promotions and programming activities. 
  • Cover an on-air shift either on weekdays or weekends.

Qualifications:

  • History of creating original content.
  • Have a passion for the CHR format.
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels, multi-task, and handle pressures and deadlines.
  • Able to quickly become proficient in Zetta, RCS Selector and Adobe Audition.
  • Computer literacy in applicable programs and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
  • Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing.
  • Have a knowledge of basic FCC rules and regulations.

Operations Manager

Anchor/Multimedia Journalist (Weekend)

KTTC-TV in Rochester, MN is seeking an Anchor/Multimedia Journalist. 

Job Summary/Description

KTTC is looking for an news anchor to lead our weekend morning broadcasts. Launched in September 2022, KTTC is the only station to offer a local newscast from 6-7am. These two shows on Saturday and Sunday morning are a great opportunity for a young journalist looking to improve their anchoring skills.

The other three days of this journalist’s workweek will be spent working with our weekday morning team as a morning reporter. Mornings can bring multiple opportunities to grow as a live reporter. From breaking news to engaging interviews and demonstrations with new businesses, the morning reporter role is vital to taking our viewers out of the studio.

Some common skills needed for both roles include time management, curiosity, ability to work on deadline, strong writing skills, and the ability to adapt. We encourage our staff to get involved in our community through various organizations and volunteer efforts.

Qualifications

MCO/Director (Weekday Morning)

KTTC Television has an exciting opening for a Weekday Morning Director/Master Control Operator. The successful candidate will work with KTTC’s excellent production team to put on newscasts in a state-of-the-art control room and will also be responsible for operating in our master control working on bringing in syndicated content and commercial spots for air. Minnesota Native News Team Leader

Minnesota Native News is currently searching for a team leader to motivate and organize a group of talented producers and keep the program on schedule with quality, thoughtful, and impactful stories. The ideal candidate has significant experience working with Indigenous communities.

 

Minnesota Native News is an award-winning weekly five-minute radio program exploring economic, cultural, health, government, and public policy issues that impact Indian country in Minnesota. Minnesota Native News covers stories and issues in a way that was informative and relevant to both Native and non-Native listeners.

 

Duties include:

  • Mentor, teach and manage new and upcoming producers
  • Serve as the back-up producer if a producer is not available
  • Generate story ideas for radio segments
  • Manage schedule and producers
  • Hold regular team meetings to discuss stories
  • Build monthly schedule of stories
  • Work with producers on story assignments
  • Assure the timely completion and quality of episodes
  • Uphold journalistic ethics
  • Work closely with, and keep in regular contact with, the Production Director and VP of Programming
  • Other duties as requested by the Production Director and VP of Programming

 

Qualifications:

  • Have a journalism background
  • Be technically proficient in the handling of audio files
  • Be organized and detail oriented
  • Have great communications skills
  • Have excellent leadership abilities
  • Have the skills to edit audio files/stories as needed

 

Compensation:

  • $250 per week (additional $525 if you produce the newscast for that week)

 

 

Length of contract:

  • January – June 2023 (with the possibility for six-month extensions)

 

Supervising the position:

  • Candidate will report to the VP of Programming
