Job Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for selling advertising to clients and developing new business relationships by prospecting, developing and selling new direct-business accounts, making sales presentations, performing collections, maintaining client relations and sales.

Job Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets including spot, digital, and new direct business. Prospect new businesses on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare and complete sales presentations with decision makers.

  • Complete all written business requirements within established deadlines. These requirements include but are not limited to: forecast reports, pending business updates, written orders and advertising copy.
  • Attend and participate in weekly sales staff meetings, individual meetings with manager and other necessary meetings and training as required by management.

    • Prepare and facilitate monthly mailings, special projects and Share with volunteers
    • Meet regularly with supervisor to assess and address office and ministry needs
    • Integral part of ministry communication including: answering phones, greeting guests, responding to listener inquiries.
    • Process mail as a part of the donation process
    • Maintain digital messaging in the lobby area
  2. Community Responsibilities:
    • Develop, plan and initiate Ambassador efforts in cooperations with Director of Operations and Finance along with the ministry’s Lead Ambassador
    • Represent Kinship radio at church and community events as assigned

  • Applicant will be in charge of the full image of the station. This includes music, imaging, social media, etc.
  • Handle all daily digital responsibilities, including posting local content to the station website and mobile app. Along with posting to station social media platforms.
  • Able to produce station promos and imaging on a daily basis. 
  • Attend and assist in all market cluster live events. 
  • Conduct Live Remotes and appearances and assist in special promotions and programming activities. 
  • Cover an on-air shift either on weekdays or weekends.

Qualifications:

  • History of creating original content.
  • Have a passion for the CHR format.
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels, multi-task, and handle pressures and deadlines.
  • Able to quickly become proficient in Zetta, RCS Selector and Adobe Audition.
  • Computer literacy in applicable programs and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
  • Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing.
  • Have a knowledge of basic FCC rules and regulations.

Operations Manager

Leighton Broadcasting in Detroit Lakes, MN is looking for an addition to our on-air team as Operations Manager. You will lead all aspects of the cluster's brand experience for Real Country KRCQ, Classic Hits KDLM, Hot AC KBOT and Classic Hits KPRW in Perham.

You will be supervising the programming, operations, maintenance, and staff development for our four stations and digital assets including branding; talent coaching; coordinating and updating the website and apps; production duties; coordination of promotions; events; and remote appearances. You will be working closely with our sales team to maximize revenue, benefiting both listeners and clients. You will also have on-air/voicetracking shifts for KBOT and KPRW.
