Job Summary/Description:

Producers are the air traffic controllers of a newscast. They see the big picture and know where all stories will take off and land. KTTC-TV is looking for someone to lead our newscasts, ensuring timely departures and safe flights. Okay, analogy is done.

Viewers are looking for more than a recap of the day when they watch a 6pm or 10pm newscast. A successful producer will take the opportunity to dive deep into the “why” and “how” of each day’s news, giving viewers a reason to switch from Netflix and watch. Together with a dedicated newsroom of anchors and reporters, this position will be responsible for shaping the lead story, working with staff on innovative ways to present content, and exploring new ways to use resources like our studio to inform.

Digital is a priority in our newsroom and this producer will also be responsible for making sure content in their show is also reflected and expanded online.

Please note - the primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to the duties listed above
