Flag Family Media, the company that owns AM 970 WDAY and AM 1100 The Flag WZFG, has an opportunity for an internship in our newsroom.
In this opportunity, you will have the chance to work hands-on in a newsroom that is self-paced but always changing due to the ever-changing landscape of the news world and the Greater Fargo-Moorhead metro area. Flag Family Media is looking for a driven individual that is able to meet deadlines. At our stations, you’ll have the opportunity to report on some of the biggest news makers in the region and country. You’ll also have the opportunity to cover stories that no other station may have across the region. We give our reporters ownership of their own reporting – and as an intern, you’ll get that same ownership!
This internship is a non-paid internship that will offer credits in exchange for your time in our department.
We are looking for someone who can devote 15-20 hours per week to the newsroom. This schedule can be worked out with newsroom and station leadership. Duties include writing scripts for newscasts, recording newscasts for on-air and writing stories for station websites.
This internship can be a hybrid of in-person or remote work. For remote work, the intern will need their own laptop or access to a computer, access or ownership of recording equipment and internet access.
