Part-Time Morning Show Co-Host

WSWT, Peoria's heritage Adult Contemporary station Mix 106.9, is searching for a bright, friendly, fun, uptempo on-air talent to join the highly rated, all live "Morning Mix" weekday 5:30-9:00 AM show.  This is a part-time position.

We're looking for someone who is very tuned in to pop culture, our local community, and current news events in our local area, country and the world.  Excellent social media and website skills, including video creation and posting are a must.

Duties include writing, re-writing and on air delivery of brief news stories, bantering back and forth in a fun way with the current co-host on various, mostly family and lifestyle related topics, and the ability to effectively interact with listeners in the context of the station's format.

Excellent ideation and planning skills and preparation of each day's show are also important qualities to have.  Ideally, this person will also have the current ability, or be willing to be trained to be able to handle a short solo on-air shift, including operation of the station's audio delivery system, as well as potentially representing the station at commercial remotes and community events that my take place on various days and at times outside weekday mornings.  This could include weekends.  Maximum commitment is 25 hours per week.

News Anchor/Reporter (multimedia journalist) needed in the Peoria, Illinois market, 1470-100.3! WMBD is part of a seven-station cluster. Our news team delivers live and local news on the hour, on the half, and when it breaks, seven days per week.

The right candidate will breed and foster newsmaker contacts and will want to be on the scene so they can draw their listeners into the story/experience! Our news team writes long form stories for the web and multiple condensed versions of each story to rotate on-air. So, the ability to write tightly is an attribute we’ll be prioritizing.
