Payroll Specialist

This individual will be responsible for processing payrolls from review of time sheets through preparation and reconciliation of all related reports including quarterly and annual federal and state payroll tax filings.  In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience with GL entries, reconciling and balancing accounts, and other general accounting practices.  A minimum of two years’ experience is preferred.  Knowledge of electronic payroll software is a plus along with strong abilities in EXCEL and WORD.  The right person will need a high degree of accuracy, be very dependable, organized, and able to handle extremely confidential information appropriately.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  Marketing Consultants are expected to achieve and exceed established revenue goals utilizing a customer-focused sales approach with existing and new customers.  Some of the duties include:  responsibility for developing and maintaining revenue with strong working relationships in a variety of business categories, collecting payment for services from all accounts, maintaining an accurate track record of all account activities, and providing input on sales promotions.  In addition, he/she will maintain a working knowledge of radio sales, digital marketing services and radio programming and promotional opportunities.

Sales Assistant

Midwest Communicatications, Inc. in Peoria, IL is seeking to hire a Sales Assistant. 

This position will be directly involved in assisting the sales management and sales team.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task plus be a team player.  General knowledge of sales concepts and software is beneficial.

Responsibilities will include, but will not necessarily be limited to:

  • Commercial order entry and production coordination using industry-specific software on behalf of Account Executives and/or managers, and providing other assistance to them
  • Assist in creating sales presentations – generally PowerPoint-based
  • Coordination of certain sales activities and projects
  • Daily and weekly reports
  • Front-desk duties at a later point
  • Assist in special events and projects

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets and background:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Morning Show Co-Host

Duties include writing, re-writing and on air delivery of brief news stories, bantering back and forth in a fun way with the current co-host on various, mostly family and lifestyle related topics, and the ability to effectively interact with listeners in the context of the station's format.

Excellent ideation and planning skills and preparation of each day's show are also important qualities to have.  Ideally, this person will also have the current ability, or be willing to be trained to be able to handle a short solo on-air shift, including operation of the station's audio delivery system, as well as potentially representing the station at commercial remotes and community events that my take place on various days and at times outside weekday mornings.  This could include weekends.  Maximum commitment is 25 hours per week.

News Anchor / Reporter

Midwest Communications in Peoria, Illinois, 1470-100.3 WMBD is seeking to hire a News Anchor/Reporter.

The right candidate will breed and foster newsmaker contacts and will want to be on the scene so they can draw their listeners into the story/experience! Our news team writes long form stories for the web and multiple condensed versions of each story to rotate on-air. So, the ability to write tightly is an attribute we’ll be prioritizing. The chosen candidate will know what it means, from an on-air standpoint, to talk to the audience and not at the audience.  Experience in doing traffic reports is also a plus.

This position will require some on-call duties and weekend work. A valid driver license and clean driving record are required.
