KSTP-TV Twin Cities (District 4,5) Through its Feeding Minnesota campaign in the Summer of 2021, KSTP-TV raised $76,573 for Matter and Minnesota Central Kitchen. Throughout the Holiday season, KSTP-TV's Stuff the Sleigh campaign collected enough toys and monetary donations to help 12,000 kids through the Salvation Army-Northern Division.
KSTP-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) KSTP-FM hosted the KS95 for Kids Radiothon to benefit the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital and Gillette Children's Hospital. The Radiothon raised $695,504.
KTMY-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) KTMY-FM and its listeners raised $183,000 during its Project Down and Dirty campaign. Proceeds from Project Down and Dirty campaign benefit Crescent Cove, Make-a-Wish Minnesota, Minnesota Academy of Science and Allina Health Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. KTMY was also honored as a recipient of the NAB Service to America Award and was recognized as a 2021 Marconi Award winner. Both awards recognize the station's broadcast excellence.
WCCO-AM Twin Cities (District 4,5) WCCO-AM raised $330,000 for Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities during its annual Hunger Mission Radiothon. $4.1 million has been raised over 20 years of the Hunger Mission Radiothon for Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities.
WCCO-AM, KZJK-FM, KMNB-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) Recently, WCCO, KZJK and KMNB partnered with Second Harvest Heartland during its Kick Hunger Day Radiothon. The Kick Hunger Day Radiothon raised $467,253 for Second Harvest Heartland and food shelves across Minnesota.
WCCO-TV Twin Cities (District 4,5) WCCO-TV's Home for the Holidays Campaign wih Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans raised $838,513. The campaign has raised over $3 Million since partnering five years ago.
KDWB-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) KDWB-FM partnered with YouthLink and local businesses to grant holiday wishes to families and individuals all across the Twin Cities. These are people who may not be able to afford Christmas gifts or are facing financial hardships in general. Gifts were donated to 18 families in need based off of over 750 Christmas Wish submissions. Over $50,000 was raised to help purchase the gifts for the Christmas Wish program.
KTCZ-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) For over 30 years, Cities 97.1 has been dedicated to helping Local Minnesota Charities and it was no different in 2022. Throughout the year, Cities 97.1 highlighted eight different local charities/non-profits during a six-week media campaign, valued at $35,000 each, to help raise money and awareness for the selected organizations. The Cities Gives Back organizations included Hope Dental Clinic, American Parkinson's Disease Association - MN Chapter, Ruff Start Rescue, Abby's Hope, Avenues for Youth, Pinky Swear Foundation, Women's Advocate and Caring Hearts in Action.
KFXN-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) In partnership with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, KFXN's shows broadcasted live from Scheel's in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and invited its listeners to make toy or financial donations. Sixteen pallets of toys were collected during the 2022 event which was a new record.
KEEY-FM Twin Cities (District 4,5) KEEY-FM along with its listeners and partners raised $1.1 million during the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon to help them fight childhood cancer. KEEY stops all normalcy for two days and talks about the Hospital and asks listeners to donate by becoming a "Partner in Hope." It is the single biggest radiothon that the hospital does anywhere in America.
KARE-TV Twin Cities (District 4,5) KARE-TV's annual campaign for Toys For Tots collected 230,000 toys which is over 30,000 more than 2021 and $216,000 in financial doantions. Their recent campaign was able to help 130,000 kids in the community.
WUMN-LP Twin Cities (District 5) The 7th Annual St. Jude Children's Hospital Telethon in March 2021. The Telethon raised $20,000 with all proceeds going to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. The 2022 WUMN St. Jude Children's Hospital Telethon is tentatively scheduled for March 18-19. WUMN also produced three, 30-minute programs focused on coping with the pandemic mental health. Local medical and community professionals were invited to participate in these programs.
